Oprah Winfrey Moving To Prime Time
04.08.10 |
Oprah Winfrey's expected to announce today her big move to evening television. The "Wall Street Journal" reports that the daytime diva will host a prime time show called "Oprah's Next Chapter" on her new network. It's called the Oprah Winfrey Network, or OWN, and it'll feature 24-hour programming. Winfrey's new show will air two or three nights a week. Instead of the studio she's used for 25 years, Winfrey will be globetrotting. She told the "Journal," quote, "I'm going to take viewers with me, going to take celebrities I want to interview with me." Winfrey will be pitching the new show today to advertisers. The OWN network will debut January 1st, 2011 and is a joint venture between Winfrey's Harpo Incorporated and cable network Discovery Communications.
