Broome County Executive Jason Garner expects municipalities to save $20 million with the new Shared Services Initiative Plan."  He says "the plan has been submitted to the Broome County legislature for comment."

The shared services concept is part of Governor Cuomo's 2018 budget plan requiring every county find ways to save taxpayer dollars.  The governor has asked counties to pinpoint way local governments can work together.

Garner says sharing radio emergency towers could save the county $18 million.
