Obama Administration Files First Legal Brief On Gay Marriage

The Obama Administration has made it's most forceful argument yet in favor of gay marriage. On Thursday, the white house filed a legal brief, asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn California's ban on same sex marriage, Proposition 8. Proposition 8 was an approved sanction of tradional marriage, voted on by a majority of residents in California. If adopted by the court, it means the federal government could eventually mandate that other states drop their prohibitions of same sex weddings as well.
