NY's Master Teacher program expanding

11.05.13 | Bob Price

Educators from six additional regions, including the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier can apply for the program.  It was created by Governor Cuomo to promote and reward science, technology, engineering, and math teachers in the state. Master teachers receive a $15,000 grant per year over four years while they peer-mentor other teachers and participate in professional development activities.  SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher says over a hundred teachers have applied for the program - nearly six hundred will be selected next year.  You can apply at suny.edu/MasterTeacher.
