NY teachers union blasts Cuomo's State of the State speech

The President of NY’s largest teachers union has some problems with Governor Cuomo’s education reforms outlined in this week’s state of the state address. Dick Iannuzzi with the NYS United Teachers is calling for a 3-year moratorium on the Common Core learning standards, which started for students in grades 3rd-8th last year. He’s also critical of the governors’ plans to tie property tax breaks to consolidation or streamlining services, saying it would hurt their ability to raise revenue.
