State Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon spoke about the Excelsior Scholarship Program at Corning Community College last night.

She's says they have to carry 30 credits in a year and maintain their GPA.  The state will cover tuition after TAP and PELL funds.

80% of New York families qualify for the Excelsior program.

Robin Foot is a senior at Wayland-Cohocton High School and plans on attending SUNY Oneonta in the fall.  She wants to learn more to make sure she's not penalized for using state funds.

The Excelsior program only applies to students at SUNY or CUNY schools.
