NY Senate Democrats have 4 gun control proposals they'll in January

Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul says lawmakers want to make sure "we're doing the best we possibly can to protect every citizen."

One of those proposals is a bill that would allow a cop, family member, or school official testify that a person shouldn't have a gun.

Republican Senator Rob Ortt calls the "red flag" bill is too subjective.

The other proposals include extending the waiting period of a delayed background check requiring New Yorkers wanting to buy handguns to let investigators go through their social media and search engine history,  and banning bump stocks.
