NY S.A.F.E. Act Troubling for Conservative Groups

04.18.14 | Bob Price

New york conservatives fear a crisis is in the making because of new registration requirements with the
S.A.F.E. act,  a controversial gun control law.
Jason McGuire is a lobbyist with New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms says the assault-weapons ban could instantaneously turn tens of thousands of gun owners into felons. While a large part of the legislation is to ban assualt-weapons (those with miliatry features), McGuire says only about 10% of registrees are registering such types of guns. A State Supreme court judge ruled earlier this week that the S.A.F.E. Act does not violate the 2nd amendment. Gun rights groups are planning an appeal.
