NY Power Authority Freezes Rate Hike

03.25.09 | FL News Team

The lights will not cost any more to stay on. The New York Power Authority has frozen rates for all customers through April of next year. The Authority had planned to boost rates by as much as eight-percent. Governor Paterson and lawmakers urged that the increases be halted. The Authority will not give out executive bonuses either.

The bad news? The rate freeze may mean customers will get socked with big increases next May.
