NY, PA Sweltering In Volcanic Heat Today

07.06.12 | Sarah Harnisch

New York and Pennsylvania could break a few heat records today. More then a thousand records have been broken just in the last couple of days nationwide, and both the Empire and Keystone States are poised to hit the mid 90's, with a heat index topping out at 100 degrees. There are heat advisories in over 100 counties in New York and P.A., and the advisory lasts until 7 this evening. A storm Saturday is expected to cool things off by 10 to 15 degrees, and wipe away the humidity.
