New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has released a 137 billion dollar state budget. With no new taxes, it includes a federal aid package for Superstorm Sandy victims, 35 million to implement the new gun control law, a 3 percent increase in school aid, an increase in the minimum wage from $7.25 to $8.75 on July 1st, you won't be able to get out of speeding tickets before a judge as easily, and anyone who owes 10 thousand dollars in taxes will have their drivers license suspended. One of the hot points of the speech was minimum wage; thousands of small businesses across the state will have to lay off workers to afford it. Cuomo said "we're making sure people are earning a fair wage for a fair day's work." Cuomo's budget now heads to the legislature for review. The new fiscal year starts April 1st.
