New York's new budget will increase pay 2 percent for about one hundred thousand caretakers of the disabled. They'll get a second cost of living adjustment next April, too along with about 30,000 caretakers, nurses and social workers throughout NY. These raises cover residential and developmental aids as well as food service workers at not-for-profits that are funded by six state agencies. These agencies serve the developmentally disabled, mentally ill,  addicted, elderly and juvenile clients.
