Not As Many Democrats In America
01.06.11 |
The number of Americans who say they are Democrats-- has tied a 22 year low. New gallup poll numbers are out today. They show that in 2010, an average of 31 percent of Americans said they were Democrats; a number the party hasn't seen since 1991. That's a 5-point drop from 2008 when Democrats hit a high of 36-percent. Democrats still slightly outnumber Republicans though-- just 29-percent of all Americans identified themselves with the right. Gallup says the major movement in American politics seems to be away from both Democrats and Republicans-- and instead-- toward Independant status.
