New York's top law enforcement official is going after not-for-profits.  Attorney General Erik Schneiderman wants to force charities and ministries to disclose their political spending on state and local races, starting next year. He said "the voters have the right to know who is influencing the election. We are looking to plug this loophole where people are concealing their identities and subverting the campaign finance regime and the election process."  The proposal would require tax-exempt groups to report "electioneering activities." Schneiderman wants non profits that spend at least ten thousand dollars on political activity to list each expenditure and each contribution of one hundred dollars or more, including the contributor's name, address and employer.
