New York State Bar To Offer Free Legal Aid For Flood Victims
09.19.11 |
The New York State Bar Association is offering free legal advice to anyone affected by the flooding earlier this month. State Bar President Vincent Doyle says there are a host of legal issues that people have to deal with after they deal with the physical issues. For example, there might be insurance issues. There may be people wondering if their homeowners insurance or other insurance will assist them. Others may have lost documents in the flood that need to be replaced-- like wills. Doyle says the assistance is being offered pro-bono: at no cost-- and is available to anyone who had flooding; even if they don't live in a county covered under federal disaster declarations.
