06.13.11 |
The body of 20 year-old Devin Snyder will return to upstate New York in a somber procession this morning. She and three other military policemen were killed June 4th by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.
Ssnyder's body will arrive at Rochester International Airport at 10:53 A.M., then head south on Interstate 390 to Route 15 and Route 251, traveling through Lima, Hemlock, and Springwater before coming to Wayland and Cohocton. Snyder is survived by her parents, two brothers, and sister. Funeral arrangements have not been announced yet.
Also today, Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy Kurt Wyman will be buried. The 24 year-old was shot and killed during a six-hour standoff in Nnoxboro last Tuesday -- the same day his wife gave birth to their baby girl.
The alleged shooter, 40 year-old Christian Patterson, remains unconscious in a hospital after his own gunshot wound. Police say they're waiting for him to wake up before they charge him with murder.
The memorial service for Deputy Wyman will take place at 11 A.M. this morning in Utica.
