New Poll Shows How New Yorkers Feel About High Volume Hydrofracking

Researchers found more New Yorkers support high volume hydrofracking of the Marcellus Shale then those who oppose it. In the Family Life newsroom, our first check was to make sure the poll wasn't backed by a gas company, and it's legit conducted by Sienna College, an independant polling center with no ties to the gas industry. They found 42 percent of voters support hydrofracking, 36 percent oppose it, and the rest did not offer an opinion. Upstaters were more likely not to want it; 45 percent said no, 39 percent said yes. The poll was conducted right after Thanksgiving.
