NBC To Conan O'Brien: Better Later Than Never?
01.08.10 |
Conan O'Brien may be stuck between 30 Rock and a hard place. TMZ.com is quoting sources who say NBC has given the late night talk show host an option with regards to the future of his show: either host "The Tonight Show" from midnight to 1:00 am, or leave the network.
The offer comes as reports surface about Jay Leno's possible return to his old 11:30 pm time slot to help improve the ratings of his flagging primetime show. Sources tell TMZ that if O'Brien takes the midnight to 1:00 am time slot, "The Jay Leno Show" will only be a half an hour. But if O'Brien decides to leave the offer on the table, Leno will get a full hour. O'Brien's reps have reportedly told NBC that they are considering the offer.
"The Jay Leno Show" will reportedly go on hiatus on February 1st while NBC turns its focus to coverage of the Winter Olympics.
