The Navy seal who laid down his life to rescue a Christian doctor in Afghanistan has now been identified. And he was a native of Monroeville, Pennsylvania. That's in western Pennsylvania, in Pittsburgh's eastern suburbs. Petty Officer Nicholas Checque was 28. He had been in the Navy 10 years, and was a decorated seal, with a bronze star for valor. He helped save a Christian doctor who was taken hostage by the Taliban last week. Checque died from a single bullet wound. Seven members of the Taliban were killed in that attack. The doctor made it out alive.
