MPAA Unveils Sequel To Current Website

The Motion Picture Association of America is making itself more accessible to parents seeking to monitor their kids' movie watching habits. The MPAA unveiled a new website Wednesday designed to explain how its ratings system works and allow searches of films dating back to the birth of the ratings system in 1968. Outgoing MPAA Chairman Dan Glickman says the expanded MPAA website will also offer up a weekly e-mail for parents called "Red Carpet Ratings" that provides rating information on current films. The MPAA will continue to use the currrent letter grade system to rate the more than 60-thousand films, trailers and other cinema-related material in its database. Those letters include G, PG, PG-13, R and NC-17. The ratings website is at www.filmratings.com
