Meteorologists Say January and February Will Be A Doosy For Winter Storms
08.16.12 |
Forecasters say they see a big winter coming. While the air conditioners are still running, meteorologists are beginning to focus on the long-term winter weather forecast. They predict the East coast is going to battle some very large storms, starting in January, and extending into February. AccuWeather says November will have above normal temperatures and less rain, but December will be a transition month, and January and February will be miserable. They say the powerful En Nina current that runs along the coast of South America is shifting, and it will result in colder weather. The same thing happened in 2002 and 2003 and 1953 to 1954.
