Medical marijuana for 'profit' not 'medicine' in NY and PA

Opponents of medical marijuana in New York and Pennsylvania say "profit" not "medicine" is the real motivation behind the growing movement to legalize cannabis all across this country.

Last week, Pennsylvania became the 24th state to allow medicinal marijuana and Michael Geer with the Pennsylvania Family Institute says it will backfire. Geer insists that medical marijuana creates an industry that will lead to full-blown recreational marijuana, which is destructive to society.  Jason McGuire with New Yorkers for Constitutional freedoms says marijuana is a cash cow for state government because it will be taxed .

Both McGuire and Geer says it's ironic that the push for expanded marijuana use comes as the nation reels from an epidemic of heroin abuse, methamphetamine addiction and opiod overdoses.
