Massive Campaign For Obama Healthcare Hits Air

Get ready to be inundated with television ads touting President Barack Obama's healthcare reform plan. "Politico.com" reports a new coalition today is launching a 12-million-dollar campaign to promote the initiative and plans to spend millions of dollars this fall. The group, funded largely by the pharmaceutical industry, is called Americans for Stable Quality Care. Among its members are the American Medical Association, FamiliesUSA, the Federation of American Hospitals, PhRMA and the Service Employees International Union.

 

The first ad targets the conservative House Blue Dog Democrats, and swing senators. It will air in Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota and Virginia. The initial ad is expected to air for about two weeks.
