The tallies are still coming in as to how much of New York's apple crop was destroyed by frost in April and May. It could be as much as 75-percent, according to New York lawmakers, who have done a survey of the farms across upstate New York. On Sunday, they proposed the family farmers and apple growers relief act to provide aid. New York is the second largest apple growing state with 694 farms that employ more then 10-thousand people.
