Kodak Kept Nuclear Reactor Secret

New York officials are still scratching their heads after learning that Kodak had an active nuclear reactor in a basement at Kodak Park and failed to tell local authorities.  Kodak revealed that the reactor, which contained three-and-a-half-pounds of weapons-grade uranium, operated in a highly-reinforced bunker from the early 1970s until the nuclear fuel was removed in 2007.  The reactor was used to test impurities in chemicals and other materials, as well as tests related to neutron radiography.
