It May Take Longer To Get Your Tax Return

Delays in Congress finalizing tax laws led to the IRS not accepting electronic returns for processing until February 1st. Accountants tell Family Life News this year could be frustrating for anyone preparing their tax returns because of the tax code changes that were agreed to at the end of the fiscal cliff fight. Also, the turnaround time for refunds will be stretched out longer, as much as three weeks longer from the time you mail in your forms. Tax preparers warn this is not a "one and done" scenerio either. Next year, when Obamacare goes into effect, there will be more uncertainty. Experts say you and I should anticipate delayed refunds and filings for the next two to three years.
