Iran's President Tells President Obama Not To Interfere
06.25.09 |
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has a message for President Obama. He doesn't want Obama to interfere with what's going on within the Islamic Republic. The call comes after Obama expressed his feelings about the violence that has erupted in Iran in the wake of its disputed June 12th presidential election. Obama stated he was "appalled and outraged" over the turn of events. The semi-official Fars News Agency cites Ahmadinejad as saying Obama made a mistake with his comments. He questions why the President is making some of the same remarks he believes former President Bush would make.
Ahmadinejad questioned whether Obama wanted to use such a tone when speaking with Iran. He says, quote, "If that is your stance then what is left to talk about?" Ahmadinejad's government has accused the U.S. and Britain for agitating the current situation in Iran. He said, "I hope you avoid interfering in Iran's affairs and express your regret in a way that the Iranian nation is informed of it.
