It is official: 2011 was the wettest year Pennsylania has ever seen, since record keeping began in 1895, 117 years ago. On October 16th, 11-inches of rain fell in Williamsport, bringing the total to 61.3 inches. That number beat out Hurricane Agnes' 61.2 inches in 1972. Then on Tuesday, the year-end precipitation totals were logged at 70.2 inches for the year. That makes it more then 10-inches beyond the 1972 record.
