If You Feed Them, They Will Come!

The Seniors Luncheons at Family Life draw a hungry crowd from both near and far...
In fact the December luncheon saw a record setting 208 guests! They come in cars. They come in buses. But they come! What is it that draws the 55 and older crowd in the door? It could be the entertaining and educational programs. It could be the opportunity to visit and reminisce with a few "old" friends. There is no doubt that those elements of the luncheons are always enjoyable. However, I would dare say that it has much more to do with Sherri's cooking than anything else.
Sherri Watters, Family Life's "Chef Extraordinaire", along with her great team of volunteers, has the mouths of those seniors watering every month. Her menus include favorites like; meatloaf, oven-roasted pork with sauerkraut, roast turkey, southern style chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, jello salad and let's not forget Sherri's homemade oatmeal rolls! And there's no scimping when it comes to dessert! Pecan pie, apple crunch, grape pie, carrot cake are just a few of the sweet endings to a delicious lunch.
Oh yes, we've learned from experience that ..... If you feed them, they will surely come!
