The Union of Concerned Scientists, an advocacy group that's warning about the dangers of climate-change, says Pennsylvania will experience an average of 40 days a year with a heat index above 90 degrees by 2050, compared to an average of just eight days a year now.

The heat index, better known as the “feel-like temperature,” takes into account the speed of the wind and humidity to determine how a person’s body actually feels in the temperature.
