Acting Press Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security Tyler Houlton, sent out a tweet over the holiday weekend, saying 51-year-old Ahmed El-Mofty was a naturalized cititzen who was admitted from Egypt on a visa. He was killed after leading police on a chase, and is the lone suspect in a string of shootings throughout Harrisburg that started with shots fired into a capitol police vehicle.

The police vehicle was struck by gunfire, but the officer was not injured. A bomb squad also suspected a device near the scene of where he was killed, but no threat was found.
