Home of the Brave
08.11.11 |
With rememberance and a sense of admiration, we recognize this September as the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Together with Denver and the Mile High Orchestra, Family Life and the communities of New York's Southern Tier will come together to pay tribute to our nation's bravery.
Over 100 singers from all over New York State will join Denver and The Mile High Orchestra, singing renditions of God Bless America, Battle Hymn for the Republic, and more. As part of the performances, an Armed Forces salute will honor the five branches of the US military.
"We don’t want to lose sight of how communities around the nation came together after experiencing such unimaginable loss,” said Denver Bierman, lead singer of DMHO. “These performances will honor and celebrate the resilient strength of America and our faith in God to heal our country.”
Denver and The Mile High Orchestra will perform on Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11 at Haverling High School in Bath. The concert starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11. Click for ticket information.
DMHO has evolved and explored many different musical avenues—from swing to rockabilly, from jazz to latin. Over 10 years, the band has produced seven albums and two live-show DVDs. The band also has performed all over the world, appeared at events from Billy Graham Crusades to the Olympics, and made the finale of The Next Great American Band on Fox.
