Haitians Wake Up To Scenes Of Utter Devastation

Countless Haitians are waking up this morning after spending their second night in darkness and despair. Although aid has been promised from much of the international community, the reality on the ground is this: Haiti remains deeply in need in the aftermath of Tuesday's devastating magnitude 7.0 earthquake. Bodies are beginning to line the streets as the frantic search for anyone left alive under tons of rubble continues, often times by hand.
Nothing yet in the way of an official death toll, but with much of Haiti's capital city, Port-au-Prince in ruins, predictions are grim. Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive [[ JAHN-MAX bell-eh-REEV ]] said on Wednesday that he feared as many as 100-thousand lives may have been lost. President Obama has called on Americans to donate generously to aid groups, and directed potential donors to the White House website for information.
