Governor Paterson Calls A Special Session Into Order This Afternoon

Governor David Paterson is rejecting an appeal from state lawmakers for more time to work out a power-sharing arrangement for control of the state Senate. But the governor says enough time has been wasted and is calling for a special session at 3 p.m., this afternoon. The governor says he wants votes on 55 time-sensitive measures that are considered non-controversial items.He could use the State Police to drag reluctant lawmakers into the Senate chamber, but Republicans plan to convene a Senate session this afternoon
