Gov. Wolf doesn't see how athletes can compete at totally "online" schools

In his daily press briefing Monday, Wolf said that schools need to keep everything consistent, including with what goes on in the playing fields, saying that if a school has virtual learning, “it seems hard to justify having in-person contact sports being played in the fall.”

Wolf also addressed concerns from parents about not being able to attend sporting events. The PIAA has previously said the decision on spectators comes down to the state.

Wolf said Monday they haven’t decided if spectators will be allowed at events.

Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine added that more guidelines from the state on reopening sports will be released on Wednesday, August 5.
