Gov. Paterson Seeking Help From Obama
12.30.08 |
Governor Paterson is looking to President-elect Barack Obama to help fix New York's economy. Paterson mailed a detailed letter that plans out how he would utilize almost 800-million dollars in Federal aid.
Five hundred million dollar would be split between programs like Medicaid Assistance, unemployment insurance, child care and food stamps, while three hundred million dollars would be invested in "ready to go" projects that would stabilize and promote state infrastructure.
Paterson says, "Our recovery plan includes initiatives that the Empire State needs the most right now, not only to overcome the current crisis but to begin laying the foundation for the economy of the future."
