Goodbye Steve Rau

02.18.09 | Katie Bernier

What do you say when a valued friend and co-worker tells you he's taking the next step of faith, that God is calling him to another area of ministry?  First you say, "Seriously! What?"  Then you say, "wow.....".  Then, as it comes together in your head and your heart you say, "I'm really happy for you, praise the Lord . That’s awesome!"

Steve Rau joined Family Life in 2000 and has served faithfully as a home missionary in the Youth Action Department.  Steve has seen a lot of change in YA over his 8 ½ years here. He has helped keep YA culturally relevant in order to best reach the teenagers of today, with his musical, technical, and videographer skills.  Steve was also known for singing in the hallways and for his love of anything to do with sports or Mt. Dew.  Acting, singing and drama where also a huge part of what Steve and his wife Amy did here at Family Life. The Performing Arts department was graced year after year with this dynamic couple’s talent. They will be sorely missed.

Steve’s new responsibilities take him and his family to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania where he will be the Program  Director for Pinebrook Bible Conference.   It's always exciting and scary to strike out on new adventures, but knowing the Lord is calling and ordering Steve’s steps gives us confidence that He has great things in store for the Rau family.

Please join us in praying for Steve, Amy and their family, as they say goodbye and go forth into what the Lord has for them in this new phase of life and ministry.
