Evangelical Christians are a big reason why Newt Gingrich is surging in the polls, in a key voting state. A CBS News/New York Times poll shows the former House Speaker is leading Mitt Romney by 14-percent among Iowa Republican caucus voters. He is heavily supported by 41-percent of Tea Party voters in the state, and as for white Evangelicals in Iowa, one third favor Gingrich, as opposed to just 10-percent of Evangelicals that back Romney.
