Geisinger Health System officials said Monday they have begun searching for a CEO to replace Dr. Glenn Steele Jr., who will leave at the end of next June. Steele, who is seventy, has headed the Danville, Pa.-based system since 2001. He will remain chairman of xG Health Solutions, which works with Geisinger and others on methods to tie medical care payments to the quality of the care. Steele has regularly made the trade publication Modern Healthcare's lists of the 100 most influential people in health care and 50 most influential physician executives.
