Gas Prices To Drop In NY and PA; Prices of Used Cars To Spike
11.13.12 |
Gas prices here haven't been affected by Hurricane Sandy. It's business as usual in upstate New York and Pennsylvania. Patrick DeHaan of Gas Buddy.com says both states get their gas from different pipelines then New York city and the Jersey Shore. He did have some good news; he predicted prices could be about 15 cents lower by Thanksgiving day. Right now, it's 3-98 for a gallon in gas in New York, and 3- 62 in Pennsylvania.
In a related story, the National Automobile Dealers Association estimates Hurricane Sandy destroyed 100-thousand to 250-thousand vehicles in New York and New Jersey, which could raise the price of used cars across the country. People who lost their cars are now in the market for new vehicles. The added demand is likely to boost used car prices by as much as 700 to a thousand dollars per car, according to car buyers' research website Edmunds.com.
