Gabby Douglas Gives All Glory To God Before A Billion People Watching the Olympics

It was a good night for America in the summer Olympics. Swimmer Michael Phelps took home another record-setting gold, this time, over Canandaigua local Ryan Lochte. Two other athletes from the Family Life listening area won gold medals, too. Megan Musnicki from Naples, and Caryn Davies from Ithaca took home golds for rowing.

But all eyes were on 16 year old Gabby Douglas, who won the women's gymnastics all-around event in London. It makes her the first African American all-around Olympic Champion.

One of the neatest moments last night was an interview she gave to NBC right after the win. She said before a billion people, quote "It is everything I thought it would be, and I give all the glory to God. It's a win-win situation. The glory goes up to Him, and the blessings fall down on me." She later tweeted "may I never forget the good things He does for me." Douglas only competed in the cup as an alternate, but she outscored the favorite on the U.S. gymnastic team.
