Pink slips are being handed out at Christian media ministry Focus on the Family. The "Denver Post" reports the Colorado Springs-based organization is reducing staff to address a six-million-dollar revenue shortfall. Spokesman Gary Schneeberger says the job cuts represent about eight percent of the ministry's 935-person workforce, or 75 workers. Approximately one-third of the people losing jobs are in management. Schneeberger pointed out the bottom line is recession. He notes this year's revenue came up short due to a decline in money from large donors who write checks for thousands or millions of dollars. Last November, Focus on the Family put 200 positions on the chopping block.
