Flight 3407 Crash Blamed On Pilots

(Washington, DC) -- The plane crash that killed 50 people in Clarence, New York, is being blamed on the pilots. The deadly incident occurred on February 12th of last year. At a National Transportation Safety Board meeting today, investigators said the pilot overreacted to warnings that Continental Express Flight 3407 was entering an aerodynamic stall.
Despite the chilly weather and pilot comments about ice on the wings, investigators say ice wasn't a factor. They also ruled out mechanical problems. NTSB investigators said the plane's pilot, Captain Marvin Renslow, fought the plane's automatic stall recovery systems. They also faulted First Officer Rebecca Shaw for not taking preventative measures.
