First responders tested their terrorism readiness yesterday in Williamsport, PA

Authorities staged a mock truck attack into a crowd of pedestrians while a simulated hostage situation was on going, just blocks away.

James W. Slotterback, the emergency preparedness coordinator for UPMC Susquehanna said there were a lot of challenges for everyone, but overall, he was pleased with the drill. The exercise mimicked elements of what those living in Pennsylvania fortunately have only read about happening elsewhere.

Slotterback said the participating agencies, including the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Pennsylvania Coroners Association, held a critique afterward.
