The suggested itinerary for the Pennsylvania Tourism Office's new Fred Rogers Trail starts in Latrobe where Rogers was born. Stops include the historical society, Rogers’ childhood church, and the bell at the site of his elementary school.

The road trip continues to Pittsburgh and the Heinz History Center, with the largest collection of items from the set of the television show. It ends in Washington at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, where Rogers filmed the iconic “Grandparents” episode.
