Education officials across New York state met in Albany on a brand new board Tuesday for the first time. The group, assembled by the governor, is called the "New York Education Reform Commission." It's tasked with figuring out a better way to test and a better way to fund schools. This was the first of 10 public hearings slated across the state. The commissioners report, which comes out in December, will advise the governor for his education agenda the next legislative session that starts in January.
