Doctors: Separated Conjoined Twins Well

Doctors at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh say two conjoined Cleveland, Ohio twins are doing well after having surgery to separate them last December. Doctors say the surgery on the two-year-old girls, Dagian and Danielle Lee, was complex because they were connected from the breast bone to the groin, shared a colon and a third leg.
The lead surgeon, Doctor Joseph Losee says the team is optimistic both girls will continue to recover, even if they do face more surgery in the future. The girl's mother, Catherine Nickson, says she was nervous about the procedure but is thankful it happened. Conjoined twins are rare and happen in about one in every 100-thousand births.
