Democrat Scott Murphy Now Leads in Contested NY House Race

Scott Murphy (D) has a slim lead in the too close to call House race to succeed Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. The state Board of Elections' latest unofficial count gives Murphy a 34 vote edge over state Assemblyman Jim Tedisco (R).
Election officials do not expect the newest tally to indicate the eventual winner for the district covering Albany's suburbs. Two counties are not releasing any numbers until the entire recount is complete.
