Conversion Therapy Law To Be Challenged In Federal Court

The ban on gay "conversion therapies" will be challenged in court. California on Monday passed a law that bans all counseling centers from treating gay teenagers, effective January 1st. It includes Christian counseling centers. By Monday night, two Christian groups said they would sue in federal court in Sacramento to keep the law from taking effect January 1st. As they are mobilizing, so are gay rights groups. They are making plans to get other states to join California, calling the psychotherapy "quackery" with "no basis in medicene." Two New Jersey lawmakers are already drafting legislation similar to California's.
