Common Core protest in Buffalo

12.10.13 | Bob Price

Buffalo school teachers protested the common core learning standards outside the home of Regents chancellor Bob Bennett yesterday.  In a bold attempt to sway the state to rethink the learning standards, teachers showed up on the sidewalk in front of the Tonawanda home of Bennett.  The picket was organized by the Buffalo Teachers Federation. Bennett has been on record as a staunch supporter of the common core.  He was not at home at the time of the protest. The picket comes the same week that New York State Education Commissioner John King will be in Buffalo for a forum on the common core.
